He’s pulling himself up…

Here Spark stands in the laundry basket (Nicki placed him in it this morning as she was running around upstairs doing chores–that’s her hand holding the basket so it doesn’t tip).

While sitting in it, guess who starts pulling himself up?  Oh boy, that means walking can’t be too far behind.

Sparky gets his first wagon ride today with big sister Kate as they headed up the street for a playdate with Erin, Eva and new baby Audra.

Lavender in the late afternoon light…

Nicki’s fresh cut lavender brightens the lounge and catches the light through the open front door late this afternoon.

Kate feeds Sparky…

As the baby grows up, Kate is taking on a more responsibility and now often feeds him as she did here today.

She’s wearing her ballet tutu even though she isn’t taking ballet classes right now.  Of course what’s been fueling that interest is the latest Olivia DVD, where Olivia learns ballet.

And Nicki was helping her after feeding the boy, showing her the ballet feet positions that she found on the net.  I think she’s going to be heading back to Miss Tracy at Cal Elite soon, though….she’s been missing her class.

An image from today’s portrait session of Kevin & Sophie’s Family…

After I photographed the family, I was able to photograph Kevin with one of his favorite guitars from his collection.

He has rekindled his interest in music and playing the guitars which first began in junior high.  It was great to talk about 70s rock with him and listen to him play a bit of Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas on his Les Paul.

This little guy has been getting a bit of short shrift here on the blog.

Of course he’s been a bit under the weather and not his usual smiley and gentle self.

I was speaking with a client this morning and she was mentioning how her second gets colds constantly while her oldest daughter never got them.

We can totally relate.  It seems like Spark has been battling a perpetual cold ever since he got back from the hospital.

This evening though, we saw his usual spunk and form return as he started splashing in his baby bath and turning to the side, as he does here, to grab a washcloth.

Very soon he’s going to be out of this tub and will be able to sit in a regular bath and that means one thing:  a historic photo of the kids together in the tub!

6:20 A.M.

I almost did it again.

I almost left the camera at home.  And with the winter weather front moving through the area, I should’ve known better.

Heading to the gym, I thought…ahh, just go you won’t need the camera….everytime I hear that little voice in my head, I know that I’m going to need the camera.  You’d think I’d learn.

The moment I walked out the door, I saw the eastern sky and quickly ran back into the house, grabbed the camera, formatted a card.

This was the second image I made of the morning.

Glad I had the camera with me.

Cinderella with her “glubs”

Kate came home from preschool this morning and couldn’t wait to get into her princess outfit (today was Cinderella).  Of course she had to wear her “glubs” which were given to her by her Granny Moira.

Those are gloves that Moira wore a while ago (I’m almost afraid to say when) when she attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace where she shook hands with the Queen of England.  So those gloves have real deep and meaningful family history and even though she’s playing with them now as part of dress up, I’m certain those will be passed on and become part of her prized possessions.

Where am I?
