Sparky, catnap after church….

We figured that he probably would sleep on the way home, given that he didn’t get his usual morning nap because of church.

He slept for a little bit but we didn’t want him to sleep for too long for fear it would upset his long afternoon nap (which he had).

The red is from a blanket on the window to protect him from the sun, but I loved the effect.

Today was the first Father’s Day with two little ones, and that made it even more special.

Swing and a hit….

Kate has become quite a baseball player.

Here’s she getting ready to hit the ball and take her Dad’s head off, as we practiced this afternoon.

She absolutely loves it and as a long time baseball fan (this was the sport that I spent hours playing with my Dad when I was little) it is great for me.

It will be fun to see which sport she gravitates too as she gets older.  For know she’s doing a bit of everything:  gymnastics, baseball, swimming, and soccer (this fall).

Ferns in the afternoon…

Throughout the course of this year I’ve been peering into the side yard at various times of the day and when the light is different or interesting to check for graphic types of photographs of the yard.

There’s been a variety of these flora images that I will have to go through after the project is done.  There’s many little mini-projects in the midst of this one greater one.

Quite a change in his looks and attention from the sixth month exam, again with Dr. Ball.

Leaf on Windshield, this morning….

Heading out running an errand, I noticed a big leaf that blew onto the windshield of the Rav.

What made the photo was the sun reflected in the windshield, opposite the cool textures of the leaf.

Spiked Out Sparky after his bath….

Nicki holds the boy after his nightly bath.  No product in this hair, just a bit wet from the shampoo and bath.

Kate doing a flip on the trampoline…

After gymnastics class there was open gym at Cal Elite and Kate spent much of her time doing her favorite thing — jumping on the trampoline.

Ashleigh and Kate, Crystal Cove State Park…

This afternoon I photographed Ashleigh and Brian and their 2 year old Kate.

I photographed their wedding back in 2005 (!) and it was not only great to see them, but to meet their own Kate (who is fantastically cute).

What an amazing family and when I was done today I really just felt very grateful that I get to spend my time photographing people that have become more than clients, they become friends.

As a photographer it is incredibly rewarding to know that the images that I make will take a treasured place in their family collection.

Sparky, exhausted after a full day at Legoland…

Our little guy is cashed out in the back seat of the car after arriving back from Legoland.  There’s usually so much visual stimulation for him that he hardly eats while there and his naps are affected too.

But when he gets into the car, it’s almost instant lights out.

Where am I?
